I have so often left sleep as the last item of the day and end up always needing more sleep. I would do everything until midnight, and even then, I would enjoy continuing to read, scroll, or play games. I know that sleep is highly important and knew that I couldn’t forever have a lack of sleep. And bank this lack of sleep up until the first day where nothing is on, which is usually a weekend to recover and sleep far longer than I needed.

I have admired people who have the superpower to consistently get up at 6, 5, and sometimes 4 am. to get chores done and out of the house. In my nieveness, I would imagine that somehow they were able to stay up to the same times I was and yet be vibrant and be able to take the day on. Let alone thoes with young children being able to maintain my night life whilst getting up at all random points of the night.

We all need various amounts of sleep. Some can work with two hours of sleep, and others need consistent eight hours of rest. Those who can deal with the small two hours do require more sleep in the coming days in order to recover from the sleep deficit. Those who have a consistent amount of sleep can continue going for long periods of time without needing to change their sleep patterns.

Everything to do

We are in a world where we constantly are going constantly doing constantly going forward to the next high to the next feeling. Instant gratification is only just around the corner. Although delayed gratification has a much higher satisfaction, I have always been looking for instant gratification where i can get it. Delaying any delayed gratification even further until it becomes a rush and a need.

Many of us need to be exhausted to be able to sleep. The feeling that we need to be hungry to eat, to be full when we eat and tired when we sleep. All in order to be refreshed and satisfied in all ways for the next few hours. A part of what this blog is looking to explore is the theory of living uncomfortably. Where there are certain sacrifices amplify the rest of what we do.

New Underestimated practices

Being able to get up early has always meant that I needed to get to sleep earlier. This is the challenge of not feeling tired yet and so would delay the problem to the morning when the challenge is to wake up at a certain time. But the real problem is not the challenge of waking up. it’s about being able to go to sleep even when you’re not tired. To have enough self-control in order to sit there resting, knowing that you’re not missing out on anything. Knowing the benefits of getting an early nights rest in the short and long term.
