When dating, we often have different red and green flags we look for. Furthermore, there are often requirements that we look for in one another. There are two things we must look look into before passing such a judgement.
Matthew 7:1-2 NIV

[1] “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. [2] For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Through our own lives, we have grown to understand how the world works around us. We know what is right and what is wrong inherently. There is some things that we have grown into and learnt over time to understand the concepts and conciquences through many different learning styles and methodologies. Without the knowledge that we have learnt and possess, it is impossible to stand firm in what we believe in without knowing exactly what we are holding onto. We should then be able to share this with the people around us and find like-minded individuals. There will be people who don’t agree with your conclusions, which is a great thing to work out if the concept that you have come to is indeed true.
As stated, we need to look at ourselves and work out what has led you to this requirement. What is your past and experience with this topic or ideal. How has this changed over time? Knowing the root cause of why you think the way you do will allow you to hold strongly to your ideal as well as give you the tools and knowledge to test to see if your own beliefs hold true.
In the other person, the process is the same. Why do they hold true to this ideal. What is their upbringing and experience in the past. What are they being careful about the future. Can you really say that you know a person just by seeing if they hold the same ideals as you?
In reality, I am trying to convey the fact that you can so easily judge a person by what they do or what ideals they hold to. But rather the reason and reasons behind why they differ is actually getting to know that person. So go get to know one another you never know what you will learn.
